Impressions from Hayama Shiosai Park

In the last post I wrote, I would feature Shiosai Park – here it is. The Hayama Shinosai Park was established in 1987. It used to belong to the Hayama imperial Villa, before it was opened to the public and is an important historical site of Japan. It was here, where the Teisho Emperor Yoshihito (1879-1926)  spent the last days of his life and where the Showa Emperor Hirohito (1901-1989) succeeded to the throne.

In the leaflet they give you at the entrance they also proclaim, that it is one of the “Best 50 Park selection in Kanagawa.” Kanagawa is the prefecture and is the size of the Saarland or half the size of PEI. Pretty small? Yes, but there are lots of parks. Anyway – see for yourself.

Oh – by the way: The cheeky Koi has not made any progress in his strive to grow limbs.

I feel your pictures get better and better – or is that due to the motives? Anyway, I enjoyed them!

If I was already completely assimilated into japanese culture and customs, I would say: “No, no they are not so good. Maybe it’ s the scenes that I photograph.”
But really it is just because my photography skills are getting more and more excellent each day ;-)

    Hey
Beautiful pictures once again. I am thinking I am going to have to go to Japan! Too bad about the koi. That would certainly make it into Nature!

And as for the Koi – I am still staying for more than two months…

What an exotic place. So very different from the Western World.
Great pictures, a lot show what I imagined the traditional Japan would look like.

Re: the koi. Don’t rush him. Something like growing legs takes time.
