Houkokuji – Bamboo Garden Temple in Kamakura

Yesterday I went for a short trip to Kamakura, which is only 8 km from my place. Kamakura has a lot of temples and shrines and is really busy at the weekends. I went to the Houkokuji temple aka the bamboo garden temple. I really enjoyed the main garden, but the bamboo garden was incredible. Not a lot to say about it. Just look at the pictures.

this is a great site. enjoyed it very much too. did you see the great daibutsu?

Not yet. But Kamakura is in biking distance and the great Daibutsu hasn’ t moved in 758 years. So there’ s no rush. The fleeting cherry blossoms have top priority at the moment. :-)
